Where I Stayed in Provence: The Perfect French Villa

Provence is exactly what you imagine—lavender fields, hill-top villages, cobblestone streets, blue shutters, morning markets, stunning landscapes, glowing sunsets…I could go on and on. It’s essentially the dreamiest countryside in the world. After all, Provence is where Van Gogh painted some of his most famous masterpieces, including Starry Night.

In late June 2018, I spent seven nights at “La Farinette,” an unforgettable villa in the tiny town of Rustrel in the Luberon region of Provence.

I booked the villa through the website Only Provence. The property is a renovated village farmhouse with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a pool, outdoor seating, and so much charm. The design, both interior and exterior, is the perfect mix of traditional and modern. We met the owner, Gilles, on arrival. He was so friendly and helpful, left us flowers and cherries, and even asked me to email my travel blog to him!

It was truly a dream to stay in this home. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a relaxing stay with a group of friends or family in the Luberon of Provence.
